Digital, Sponsorship Opps: TSB Bank taps Vizeum, John Brown for media and content

Opportunity: Tapped review launched earlier this year. This is TSB's first content-specific AOR appointment and is a strategic move to better align creative content and media placement. 

MRM Meteorite will remain on the direct marketing business. However, it is also likely the bank could look to make changes as a strategy evolves under the direction of a new media agency.  

After hiring Blake James as manager of digital engagement, TSB has increased digital advertising by more than 300x. Sellers within news and technology sectors should have an advantage, while sponsorship sellers should look ahead to open 2017 partnership spots.

Media Spend: Spent £21,472,729 in total measured media last year, according to Nielsen. TV and outdoor saw the majority, followed by press, radio and Internet, direct mail and display. 

Digital Breakdown: So far this year, according to Moat, the bank has run 56 standard display ads with 661 publishers. Of those, 12% were published site-direct versus programmatically. Top display destinations include, and In addition, TBS ran 210 high impacts with 52 publishers and three video ads (81% site-direct) with 21 publishers.

During the same period in 2015, the bank published nil standard display ads, two high impacts and two video ads.
