Digital, TV Opps: Alcatel Mobile ups digital spend to target Millennials, Gen Z

Company: Alcatel Mobile, a trademark of Alcatel-Lucent used under license by TCL Communication, is the designer, developer and marketer of various mobile devices in more than 170 countries under the Alcatel brand. 

Opportunity: Having spent the year so far rebranding from ALCATEL ONETOUCH to simply "Alcatel," the advertiser has ramped up digital spend locally in hopes of targeting a younger audience. 

The brand went from spending £300 last year on desktop ads to £5k this year so far, according to Pathmatics. The ads this year have collected 1.9m impressions, the majority of them in late July. Nearly all of the spend went toward the demand side platform MEDIA iQ, with top sites including techradar.com, metoffice.gov.uk and wikia.com. 

The brand is looking to target early adapters within the Gen Z to millennial age range, so those that can offer ad space targeting this audience should have an advantage. John Ayling & Associates handles media planning and buying.
