Opportunity: The Havas Media handles media planning and buying. 

Note that Hyundai recently launched a new online car sales option, a website called "Click to Buy", in the UK, so look for more advertising promoting this. Digital ad spend has increased significantly in the last year, while OOH, experiential and targeting younger demos is at the core of its marketing strategy.

Media Spend: Spent £6.5m during the first half of 2016, according to Nielsen, with nearly £4m in TV and over a million in press and radio each. Outdoor and digital saw the rest. In 2015, the company spent £17m all year with just over £4m per quarter. 

Digital Breakdown: Hyundai spent £4.3m on digital channels last year, according to Pathmatics. This was up significantly from 2015 spending which totaled £674k all year. In total, Hyundai collected 267m impressions in 2016, the majority of which came in after July. Video and desktop ads were the most prevalent.  

Spend share favoured direct publishers by 89%, leaving just 7% to ad networks and 4% to DSPs. However, DSPs made up 32% of impressions, leaving 14% to ad networks and 54% to direct publishers. Top destinations were youtube.com, autoexpress.co.uk, carbuyer.co.uk, honestjohn.co.uk and independent.co.uk.
