Decision Makers Round Up, featuring Asda, Tom Ford Beauty, Zurich and Papa John's

Decision Makers:  A month after announcing plans to combine its Life and GI businesses under one leadership umbrella per region, Zurich has hired brand growth and digital marketing expert Richard Pash as the UKZL director of marketing. He joins recently appointed UKZL boss Anne Torry, who was appointed at the same time as UKGI boss Conor Brennan to succeed exiting Vibhu Sharma.

Both Brennan and Torry will report to Gary Shaughnessy, recently promoted to EMEA CEO and currently interim CEO for the newly combined UKZL and UKGL divisions. A search for a permanent CEO for the combined businesses is currently underway. Brennan will handle all consumer-facing UKGI responsibility, while Vinicio Cellerini will continue to oversee Zurich’s Global Corporate business in the UK.


Decision Maker: In addition to those mentioned in late May, Camillo Pane will become CEO in October, when Coty officially merges with P&G Specialty Beauty. Interim boss Bart Becht will continue as chairman. 

This month, Simona Cattaneo joined from Burberry as Coty's CMO, based in Paris. 


Papa John's

Decision Maker: Hired follows Louise Wardle's appointment as regional VP of marketing for the EMEA late last year.

Decision Maker:  The struggling betting operator lost chief and 30-year company veteran James Henderson last week. CFO Philip Bowcock takes over on the interim and lead a turnaround.

Decision Maker:  As 15-year CEO Ronan Dunne departs, O2 has appointed current CFO Mark Evans as Tefonica's UK boss from the end of July. 



Decision Maker: After bolstering its C-suite team late last year, BCA is at it again with the appointment of Stuart Gibbons as head of customer experience and Stuart Pearson as MD of UK Remarketing.This comes as the group looks to strengthen customer services and digital operations.

Decision Maker: Hired former Veeve marketing boss Matt Knight as CMO and former Groupon COO Jacques de la Bouillerie as regional MD as the app looks to grow its brand presence here. Coople launched this year, piggy backing on its success in Switzerland under the name Staff Finder.

Vets4Pets and Companion Care

Decision Maker: Launched a new ITV ad with Cheshire agency Bugler Smith. The ad focuses on pet welfare and benefits of care plans at a time when nearly half of all Brits between ages 20-and-44 own a pet. This will mark the fifth TV campaign the agency has done for Vets4Pets, which will run on ITV channels for three weeks. Sellers who can reach this target audience should go after revenue tied its next TV push. Women are the key decision makers in pet and vet-related costs. Autumn and winter tend to be a big shopping season for pet products.
