It turns out SPAR UK tapped Manchester-based agency The Common Good in Oct. to deliver a new digital strategy and launch a new mobile first website in early November.

Marketing Strategy: Following several new leadership appointments in January as part of its new Global Retail Insights Initiative, which is intended to address client demand for in-store and omni-channel optimisation, Spar Food started seeing an increase in online and mobile-derived traffic.
The company knew it was imperative to engage with Millennials through mobile and digital activity, supporting Spar’s brand positioning and key values of being fresh, local and delivering quality service and products. The digital ‘Shop & Win’ campaign, launched prior to The Common Good joining the initiative and managed in collaboration with promotional strategy and shopper activation agency Blue Chip, saw redemption rates hit 20%, with a specific target audience of 20-44 year old females.
This campaign spanned TV and digital media. The company also launched a hyperlocal search campaign in Northern Ireland which led to a month-on-month click through increase of 26%. Expect more activity similar to this, with an increased focus on shopper marketing, in-store experiential marketing and social media.
Agency Roster: Spar appointed Aduro Communications to increase awareness of its wine range in late May. Omnicom's Fishburn is the incumbent on the PR account and will continue to handle crisis communications (note that Fishburn is SPAR UK's retained media agency in 2010.
