Company: Scottish Power (SP) is a utility company, one of the big six, that provides gas & electricity to house holds and businesses in the UK.
Opportunity: Put its six-figure PR account up for review for a brief that covers media relations, sponsorship, corporate social responsibility programmes, community investment, the firm's SME, retail, distribution and renewables divisions.
This comes as the price wars persists among the the7stars on the defence. Creative and digital could be next, so agencies should continue to pursue new business.

Media Spend: Spent £5.2m last year, according to Nielsen, mostly in press, radio and direct mail. Outdoor increased nearly 3x from 2014 spend. Q1 this year began with a return to TV with a £5.1m budget after two years of no spend in the category. Digital also surged this year. Q1 and Q4 are the peak spending periods.
Digital Breakdown: Per Pathmatics, the company has spent £174,300 on 48 desktop ads so far this year, generating 22m impressions. This is half as much spent during the same period last year, with 13m less impressions than 2015.
The majority of these impressions were split between DoubleClick and AdSense, with 18% running site direct (breakdown in chart). Top sites included ebay.co.uk, freecycle.org, gov.uk and bt.com.
SP spent £44k on mobile/tablet ads, which generated 4.4m impressions and 56% of those ran site-direct. Top destinations were ebay.co.uk, fanfiction.net, dailystar.co.uk and dailymail.co.uk. Last year saw less than £80 spent with only 36k impressions.
