Decision Maker: Booking.com has established clear global leadership in the online accommodations market, and the company plans to continue to profitably invest to improve and extend services to bring in more customers. Mobile execution remains a bright spot across the Group, and they adhere to this formula for earning customers' loyalty through delivering “best-in-class consumer experiences end-to-end and across devices”.
Part of this leadership includes the appointment this month of Mr. Ollie Shayer as global head of media planning. He joins Booking.com from Diageo where he held the same role over Western Europe for about a year and half, in addition to other marketing roles there since 2010. He has extensive experience in online and digital at companies like Sainsburys and Nestlé as well.

Decision Maker: As of this month, Weetabix has a new head of brand on board, Mr. Gavin Loftis. He joined from Jordans & Ryvita Company most recently where he was first an international marketing manager since 2011 and then a marketing controller since July 2014. As head of brand, he will be the brand’s champion and lead its strategic development, driving consumer awareness, brand salience and per capita consumption of Weetabix through brand management of the marketing mix, including advertising, media, research, campaigns, creative development and project management of strategic brand products and new product launches.

Decision Makers: In October, Ms. Katy Jones was promoted to global senior brand manager for the Häagen Dazs brand from her role as senior brand manager at General Mills. In June, Mr. Arjoon Bose was appointed marketing head for the UK and Scandinavia for the Häagen Dazs brand. Also in October, Ms. Holly Bouldin moved from brand manager of the Green Giant brand to brand manager for Häagen Dazs. She worked in brand management prior to that at Burton’s Biscuit Co since 2011. In June, Mr. Arjoon Bose joined as head of marketing for the UK/Nordics over the Häagen-Dazs brand. He joined from L’Oréal where he was group brand manager in the UK/Europe over haircare.

Decision Makers: Jumbo Games is expanding its sales and marketing team in the UK, with two new executives on board to fuel these growth efforts. Mr. Steven Baker will be the new sales agent, and Mr. Daniel Nicholas has joined as marketing executive. Mr. Baker’s role sees him managing the South East area with his sales expertise built up over the last 25 years, and he starts on 01 December. Mr. Nicholas will work on trade and consumer marketing strategies with senior marketing executive Steven Russell.

Decision Maker: Joining from Kaplan Financial, uniform provider Simon Jersey has appointed Mr. David Pert as its very first direct of eCommerce, as the company is keen to build its online presence and boost sales. The company has already seen the potential, as the last 18 months have had strong online growth. Mr. Pert is well positioned to faciliate this, as he was head of digital for three and a half years prior to this role and digital marketing manager at the same company for two years before that.

Decision Makers: In September, Mr. Marcus Rand was hired as director, replacing Ms. Laura Alcock-Ferguson who was director since October of 2010. He has said they have yet to commit to a specific strategy. In addition, the Campaign hired Ms. Kellie Payne in August as learning and research manager. She manages the Learning Network where people have a chance to share evidence and meet each other over new ideas at Campaign events. Decision Makers: Music Glue has chosen former Great Escape Director Kat Morris as its global marketing director in order to fuel expansion into new markets and to find more partnerships with budding musicians. Her role will encompass the UK, but she will also focus her energy on elevating the Music Glue brand globally. At the same time as Ms. Morris's hire, the company added a U.S. sales and marketing lead to the team, as well as a UK head of artists and repertoire (A&R), Mr. Jon Chapman. Mr. Chapman will be increasing sign up and engagement with artists, managers and labels throughout the UK. In August, Ms. Suzi Beese was appointed as commercial director, joining from Board Intelligence as its head of advisory & principal. She is responsible for anything related to commercial or business development, including meant partners, investors, major clients, suppliers and international offices. She has worked on the agency side as a media planner at Vizeum in the past.

She works primarily in the commercial department, coordinating email marketing in order to boost online presence, developing e-marketing and reviewing DofE’s content management platform.

Decision Maker: 10-year marketing veteran Tristanne Searle was just appointed head of EMEA marketing at Veracode, effective this month. Ms. Searle joined from database and CRM software company Blackbaud Europe where she was marketing manager for three years, heading up core marketing function and European marketing strategy for the ~ £14m core markets area of Blackbaud Europe.
