Tinder users need to eat right? Social food app launches in the UK with Tinder-like swipe action

Subject: Restaurants, App, Start-Up, B2C, Social.

Company: FoodMood Limited – “Tinder for food” start-up app that learns from users’ responses (“yum” or “yuk”) in real-time and navigates through thousands of restaurant options, pulling up photos of dishes nearby to find the right “food for your mood”

Opportunity: By swiping “yum” or “yuk”, this new start-up app will work with your emotions to find just the right meal for your cravings. London has great food offerings so why waste time eating the worst of the lot when the best is literally at your fingertips?

Founder of FoodMood Charles Fattouche says that the app works scientifically: “When looking at a dish, the human brain instantly captures multiple features from the type of cuisine to minor details such as the use of specific ingredients or the way they have been cooked. Our algorithm is designed to mimic that behaviour.”

The app is one of many social start-ups that provide instant info. They’re like the new Google, but way cooler because they get to know your brain and preferences. Examples of such Tinder-like apps include Beach app.

Stay alert over the next few months to see what happens with FoodMood. The company will likely seek a PR agency as it gains traction. Reach out for digital, social media, media and PR opportunities.
