Q4 Campaign Imminent: Intel taps TBWA for B2B strategy, creative

Opportunity: After a three-month pitch, Intel has awarded TBWA\Chiat\Day to its global B2B strategic and creative account with TBWA\London taking the lead locally. Sellers should pursue imminent campaign pounds tied to Q4, Intel's biggest spending period. Look for TV, outdoor and digital revenue. Note that Intel has shifted more towards programmatic buying this year, particularly on video and has seen higher impressions as a result. OMD handles media.

Media Spend: Spent £4.7m last year, according to Nielsen, a significant increase from 2014. TV, radio and outdoor take up most of its budget. 

Digital Breakdown: Per Pathmatics, Intel has spent £1.7m on desktop ads so far this year, accruing 95m impressions. Of those, 92% were purchased site-direct and top sites were msn.com, whatculture.com and gizmodo.co.uk. DSPs DoubleClick and Simpli.fi took 2% of these impressions. 

Mobile ads (75% site-direct) have seen 27m impressions so far this year and video ads have seen nearly 30m impressions. Top sites for video included msn.com, independent.co.uk and whatchcartoononline.com. The breakdown for impression share of voice is seen in the chart, but most ran using programmatic. 

During the same period last year, Intel spent just over £100k on desktop and saw just 10m impressions, running 88% site-direct. Mobile spend was slightly lower and Intel spent £1.5m on video last year but saw just 25m impressions. All of these were purchased site-direct.
