B2B, Digital Opps: Ruckus Wireless hires 15-year Cisco veteran as VP, marketing

Opportunity: Hired Nick Watson, a 15-year veteran of rival Cisco, as VP of marketing, sales and operations for the EMEA, following the departure of EMEA field marketer, Caroline Finch, and director of marketing, Roger Hockaday, last May.
The company plans to continue to invest for long-term growth via heavy investments marketing, among other areas, with the goal of expanding reach to new service providers and channel partners. Education is one of Ruckus’ biggest sectors, so sellers associated with this industry will have an advantage. Ms Watson will have to pick up where Mr Hockaday left off after moving Ruckus to a digital marketing strategy in EMEA last year. With EMEA having accounted for 26% of Ruckus’ total Q4 revenue, increased 25% YoY, the market is worth the company’s investment.
Experience: Most recently, he was the VP of EMEA for HP Networking. Prior to that he was with Cisco for 15 years in various sales leadership roles. At Ruckus, Mr Watson will report directly to Ian Whiting, CCO.
