Company: Epson Europe, more officially known as Seiko Epson Corporation, is a Japanese electronics company and a global leader in imaging technologies.
Opportunity: Promoted senior marketer Marc Tinkler to head of product marketing and professional printing solutions. The promotion takes place several months after appointing Rob Clark as MD and follows a a €50 million investment to increase sales in Europe. Epson has launched 13 new printers in the last six months in order to appeal to UK businesses seeking more sustainable products.
Note that the wearables segment saw flat sales during the fiscal Q1 to 30 June, with EU watch sales on the decline, so promotions ahead of gifting season will be higher than usual. Projector sales increased in the EU ahead of major sporting events but demand within the education sector declined, so also look for the brand to push consumer and business projector sales in Q4.
Per Pathmatics, Epson has spent £216k so far this year (nearly 19m impressions), slightly behind the £233k spend during the same period last year (nearly 24m impressions). Most of this activity is on desktop, in which 84% of the impressions were purchased site-direct. In addition, 8% came from the DSPs MediaMath and DoubleClick. Top targeted sites include gumtree.com, itpro.co.uk and ebay.co.uk.
In the last three months of the year, Epson spent £192k on digital advertising, more than half what it spent in the year leading up to October. Sellers should see plenty of revenue opportunities over the next quarter. Total Media handles the media account.
