H1 Campaign Imminent: Infiniti reviews digital, CRM and social after huge spend boost

Opportunity: Issued a review of its digital, CRM and social media business, putting eight-year incumbent TMW Unlimited on the defence. The new contact will begin next April, so sellers should be ready for a shift in spending and a campaign to follow shortly after. 

Note that Infiniti has significantly increased ad spend this year, going from spending just £183k during the first half of 2015 to nearly £2m in H1 2016. On digital, the company has spent £1.5m so far this year, according to Pathmatics. This is up from £202k recorded during the same period last year. 

Parent company Nissan VAI after bolstering its marketing team ahead of several early 2017 product launches. 

Manning Gottlieb OMD handles media planning and buying for Infiniti. 

Additional Information

Media Spend: Spent £427k last year, with £178k in Q1 and £126k in Q4, according to Nielsen. Infiniti spent £1.9m during the first half of this year mainly in TV and digital.

Digital Breakdown: The majority of this year's expenditure took place during the first half of the year on desktop. In fact,  nearly all of this activity took place before July this year. 

Nearly all spend share was direct (97%); however, ad networks owned 19% of impressions share as you can see in the chart. Top sites were youtube.com, msn.com and autoexpress.co.uk. 

Top indirect impressions sources were Google AdX + AdSense, Undertone, AppNExus, ADTECH MArketplace and The Trade Desk.
