Digital, TV Opps: Euro Car Parts launched first TV ad, appoints PR shop

Company: Euro Car Parts, owned by US-based LKQ Corporation, is the UK's largest car parts and accessories retailer with more than 200 outlets throughout Europe.
Opportunity: Launched its first TV ad campaign (above) and appointed Prova as its first lead PR agency in the UK last month. The TV campaign, led by Bean Consulting and created by Jamie Delaney and Ridley Scott Associates, is likely the first of many so channels similar to E4, BT Sports, Sky One, Channel 5 and Film4 should be all over this before the next push. As for online, the company wants to expand its digital and social presence to "further enhance" customer relationships, according to newly-hired Head of Communications and PR Paul Baylis. Already, Euro Car Parts invested £1m to relaunch its website and appointed Epiphany to raise brand awareness online this summer. Lakestar Mccann was the incumbent.
We have yet to see a real increase in digital since appointing the agency to handle search and display advertising, according to Pathmatics. However, there's likely revenue left for the rest of Q4 and in Q1, supporting the new TV campaign.
Euro Car Parts recently acquired its rival distributor Andrew Page Limited, so higher budgets are likely supported by its parent company. This summer, former COO Andy Hamilton joined the parent company as VP of European operations to oversee revenue, margin optimisation, channel development and integration.

Digital Breakdown: Spent £380k on desktop so far this year, with 76% of spend running site-direct. In addition, 20% ran through an ad network and 4% through a DSP. Top desktop ad destinations are ebay.co.uk, youtube.com and gumtree.com.
Another £45k was invested in mobile ads, with 67% running through an ad network, 18% through a DSP and 15% site-direct. Top mobile sites were volkszone.com, dailymail.co.uk and newsnow.co.uk.
