Multi-Channel Opps: Baileys launches campaign with Mother London to warm millennial hearts

Brand: Founded in 1974, Diageo.

Opportunity: Recently launched an integrated marketing campaign, with Mother London, titled "when Coffee met Baileys." The world's first social soap opera: a tale of when steamy met creamy is looking to warm consumers up on those cold nights. Baileys's usually works across experiential, in-house, social, digital and video.

Nine months after Diageo built out the Carat London, up for global review.

This particular campaign is aimed at linking Baileys to coffee to attract brand lovers and incoming millennial consumers, and benefit from both markets set to increase this winter. Mother London has handled creative since last year.

Additional Information

Media Spend: In the last year, Baileys spent over £6.9m primarily across outdoor, TV and cinema, with some devoted to press and digital. Q4 is peak spending season by far.

Digital Breakdown: In the last 12 months, according to Moat, 13 standard ads were run on 18 publishers. With 67 per cent placed site directly, leaving the rest for programmatic, top publishing sites are,, and Also, three high impact ads and two video ads were run during this time. This is a decrease from 2014 so hopefully the brand is gearing up for a digital push this year to pull in their typical consumers.
