Agency Update: Orion Publishing further bolsters marketing team ahead of Q2 push


Publishing group, vulnerable last June when Group Marketing Director Sarah Benton was brought on to shape the entire department and future of the new team. The group is poised for Q2 campaigns, with spending continuing throughout autumn/winter as well, so outdoor and digital sellers should contact now. 

The shake-up follows the appointment of Head of Marketing for Fiction Lynsey Sutherland last November. Late March, HarperCollins marketer Cait Davies will join as marketing manager for both fiction and non-fiction and Deputy Marketing Director Jessica Htay will be promoted to marketing operations director. Anna Bowen will become head of marketing, up from brand development head and finally, Marketing Manager Jennifer McMenemy will shift focus to Orion's Imprints. Many have digital, social media and event management skills.

In 2009, the publisher worked with creative agency Total Media covered planning and buying. Agency relationships are due for a shuffle so don't miss out and plan on a omnichannel strategy as Orion guns for a broad readership.

Additional Information

Media Spend: In H1 2016, close to £84k mostly on outdoor with a tiny portion going towards press. This is a major increase from 2015, when £88.5k was spent throughout the entire year.
