Still Vulnerable: The Gym Group's marketing director starts role as profits rise

Update (21 Oct.): As recently reported, Commercial and Marketing Director Barney Harrison has now officially joined the company. During the six months to June, the vulnerable account's revenues rose by over 25% to £36.1m.

Opportunity: The budget organisation is bolstering its team of executives after COO Jim Graham leaves to return to private equity by the end of this year. Mr Barney Harrison will join as marketing director this October following Operations Director Nick Henwood's appointment this August. Additionally, Mr David Kelly will join as an independent non-executive director, also with a strong pedigree in technology.
Though Mr Graham was instrumental in The Gym Group being the first UK gym chain to go public in over a decade, the company is forging ahead with new leadership and digital savvy decision makers. Additionally, Online and mobile sellers should reach out now as gyms see an increase in traffic as winter takes over and outdoor activities become less appealing.
