Campaign Imminent: National Express Coach appoints One Black Bear as creative AOR

Opportunity: Following agency shifts at its West Midlands bus division in January, independent agency One Black Bear was appointed as National Express Coach’s lead creative agency. Expect creative to roll out shortly across social, digital and traditional platforms since Q3 is historically National Express’s top ad spending period.

Additional Information

Incumbent: One Black Bear had previous handled work on a per-project basis. 

Digital Breakdown: Last year, National Express ran 40 standard display ads (the same as 2014) and 58 high impact ads, according to Moat. All of National Express’s display was placed programmatically to publish on a total of 1,115 destinations, more than 300 than the year before. Top publishers included gamepedia.com, n4g.com, futhead.com, freep.com and travelocity.com. The highest daily activity was in April and between July and September, mostly on news, interests and entertainment publishers. 

Media Spend: Nielsen reports a 49% YoY rise in annual media spend in 2014, reaching £3.2m, largely due to an increase in TV and press advertising.
