OOH, Sponsorship Opps: Corona Extra readies for big summer push

Corona UK Marketing Manager Andre Finamore said that the "out of home campaign will help amplify [the brand's] 'This is Living' brand ethos and support a host of exciting summer activity planned for 2016.”
Creative is by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam and also spans social media and a 60-second film. Sellers-- go after similar revenue likely this summer (Q3 is big for Corona) and ahead of next year's big push. Vizeum handles media.
Media Spend: Corona spent £3m last year in outdoor alone, up significantly from 2014 spend. AB InBev spent £18m last year, down from £23m spend in 2014.
Digital Breakdown: Moat reports the beer brand has run only nine standard ads with 11 publishers in the last 12 months. Of those, 95% were published site-direct versus programmatic. The beer brand also ran 25 video ads, though. Top destinations were tesco.com, joe.ie, webcamgalore.com and dailymail.co.uk.
The prior year saw the brand run 11 standard ads with 85 publishers, 27% publishing site-direct. Similar destinations-- Corona ran only one video ad.
Target Audience: Young urban upper middle class males.
Competitors: Heineken, Miller and Budweiser steal some market share.
